How the Editorial Research Score Works
LumoRose uses a 100-point editorial research score to compare published shopping options and policies. It is not a customer rating, an aggregate of reviews from other websites, or a claim that we placed an order. Every scored criterion links to the merchant's official page and records the date checked.
The methodology page itself is included in the public sitemap because it explains the score formula, source requirements, and limitations for review pages that are eligible for indexing.
1. Delivery Availability (25% weight)
We examine published delivery coverage, same-day or next-day availability, destination restrictions, order cutoffs, and available delivery frequencies. A high score means the options and limits are clearly explained; it does not measure whether a specific delivery arrived on time.
2. Price Transparency (20% weight)
We check whether product or plan prices, shipping terms, subscription savings, and likely additional charges are visible before purchase. Promotional prices are treated as temporary and are not used as permanent value claims.
3. Changes & Substitution Clarity (20% weight)
We review official rules for order changes, cancellations, bouquet substitutions, schedule changes, and recipient updates. The score reflects policy clarity and customer control, not the visual quality of a substituted bouquet.
4. Issue Resolution Policy (20% weight)
We compare the published time window and remedies for damaged, missing, incorrect, or unsatisfactory orders. Replacement and refund language is scored only as written; actual support speed is not scored without documented interaction evidence.
5. Specialized Shopping Options (15% weight)
We check for clearly labeled paths such as pet-safe flowers, subscriptions, plants, same-day delivery, sympathy gifting, delivery-frequency controls, and transparent category filters.
Score Calculation
Each criterion receives an integer score from 1 to 5. The final score is calculated as round(sum((criterion score ÷ 5) × criterion weight)). The same weighting is used for every provider within the same review context.
What the Score Does Not Measure
Unless a page includes dated order evidence, original delivery photos, and observation notes, LumoRose does not score bouquet freshness, packaging condition, stem count accuracy, design authenticity, courier execution, or vase life. Those factors require hands-on evidence and cannot be inferred from merchant marketing.
Evidence and Update Policy
Every scorecard shows its official sources, limitations, and last-checked date. Scores are rechecked when a review is materially updated; there is no unsupported fixed update schedule. Affiliate relationships do not change the formula or weights.
